The Kennel Club sticker campaign to break down barriers for dog owners

Ever tried to take your dog for a walk to pick up some essentials from the shops, only to be faced by the problem of not being allowed to take your dog in?

Restrictions for dog owners on where they can take their dog seem to be an ever increasing daily dilemma, which is why the Kennel Club launched its ‘OPEN FOR DOGS’ sticker campaign, to encourage more businesses to accept dogs.

openfordogs An attractively designed sticker has been created for all places that are open to dogs.

Places which display this campaign sticker ‘Open for Dogs’ and allow dogs, will benefit from encouraging more visitors and their dogs, with the Kennel Club connection. Contrary to popular belief, it is by no means illegal to take dogs into restaurants and pubs etc.

These places will also benefit from being listed on the Kennel Club website on the Open For Dogs page – providing a centralised and useful service for all those who want to go about their daily lives with their dogs alongside.

The Kennel Club wants to make life easier for millions of dog owners, who would benefit if more places allowed dogs - and so would the businesses!

From cafes, restaurants, libraries and shops to taxis, road recovery companies, offices and more. These are places we all go to, and need to go to, and why should dogs not be allowed to accompany us, as well behaved dog citizens?

The stickers were first available at the campaign launch at Discover Dogs, November 10th and 11th at Earls Court 2, London www.discover-dogs.org.uk

After the launch, these stickers are now freely available from the Kennel Club press office. To request a dog sticker, and to support the ‘Open for Dogs’ campaign, get in touch with the KC press office, so dog ownership in daily life can become the norm.

Email your request to press.office@thekennelclub.org.uk

And if you have visited somewhere who welcomed your dog, then let us know and we can send a sticker directly to them. Help the UK to be more ‘Open for Dogs’ with the Kennel Club.
