FREDDIE
|

Freddie
came to
us due to her owners divorcing and with her owner moving back in with
his
mother it was decided that
a dog was the last thing she could cope with in addition to four
children
coming to live with her. They showed no concern as to where Freddie was
going
as to them we were complete strangers taking their dog away to lord
knows
where. This lack of consideration for Freddie's welfare convinced
us
that she was far better off leaving such a family to be with someone
who
cared and was willing to give her the TLC and time she deserved.
Freddie had no idea of how to play with a ball or any other toy even
though she was 5 years old and had lived with a family of children.
She had also been deprived of any socialisation with other dogs
as her ability to integrate with our pack was seriously impaired.
One on one training sessions with Freddie were a joy, her
abilities shone through and she enjoyed nothing more than responding to
instruction and enjoying the praise that followed a successful
completion of each exercise.
Although proven to be such a star in all aspects of her training her
inability to find her place in our pack caused some concern. For
the four months she was with us we constantly tried to overcome her
problems unfortunately with little success and it was a
heartbreaking decision when it was decided that Freddie would be far
happier in a single dog household where she would not have the stress
of having to find her position within the pack.
Freddie was put up for rehoming with the help of Garbo Garnham at Vigil and one month later the ideal home
for Freddie was offered by Ken and Lynne Golding. Having owned a
GSD before, they were willing to give Freddie the time and TLC she
needed to relax and enjoy life to the full. Freddie has since
found canine playmates encountered on her walks with Ken and Lynne but
although she has the time of her life during this play they are
aware that Freddie is capable of a sudden mood change. Two
years on Freddie has had no incidents of worrying aggression and is
very happy in her new life. This justifies our decision to rehome
her as because of Ken and Lynnes dedication to provide everything
Freddie needs has proved to be the best thing we could have done for
Freddie. Being able to keep in regular contact with Freddies
progress is some compensation for giving her up as we still feel we
share a part of her life.

21 August 2009 Freddie Update
It is with great sadness that we have to tell everyone that our
beloved Freddie was put to sleep today. She had been diagnosed
with mouth cancer and was not doing particularly well. After such
a bad start in life we were extremely pleased that Ken and Lynne were
able to adopt her and we are glad that Freddie settled in with them
wonderfully and enjoyed her time with them. As you can see from
her photo's she is a beautiful looking girly and it is a real shame
that her life has come to an end.
Thank You Ken and Lynne for the wonderful life you gave Freddie.
God Bless you Freddie
RIP
