Liquorice in a new addition to our holiday pets. She
is 16 years old and a miniture poodle. She is very tiny stood up against
the rest of our pack but she is more than capable of letting them know when
to keep their distance. The other dogs have been very good with her,
full of curiosity that having such a small visitor in the house is so new
to them as she is the smallest dog they have ever met. After the customary
sniffs they all went off to do their own thing paying little or no attention
to this tiny ball of curly hair.
This poor girl has half her teeth missing, shaky on her legs and we are
quite sure her hearing and her eyesight is impaired but this does not stop
her from enjoying life. Not knowing the life expectancy of a miniture
poodle we can only imagine she is doing very well indeed for her age. We
were told she was not good with other dogs but in being in amongst our pack
there is little sign that it has faised her in any way.
Out in the garden she is quite happy investigating every nook and cranny
with only Cyrus thinking she might want to play with a huge football. There
is little chance of that with the football being larger than her and you could
see the disapointment on Cyrus's face when she showed no interest. This
is the enjoyment of having these dogs come to stay, as we just watch them
intermingle with our pack, each doing their own thing around the house and
garden quite happily together.
