Natasha (Tasha)
is our foster dog. She came to be with us because her owners had
lost their jobs and had had their home repossessed. They could
not take her into rented accommodation and did not want to put her
up for rehoming. Their plans are to have her back with them when
their lives are back on an even keel.
She is a little
overweight as her favourite food was custard cream biscuits.
Needless to say she is not getting them now. As her weight
was giving her a problem with walking she was started off on short
walks 3 times a day and a restricted diet. We have only had her
for a few months
but you can see a difference in her demeanor already. The weight
is
coming off slowly and she can now join in the ball chasing with the
other
dogs. She will never be as nimble or as light footed as Chloe but
it
is a pleasure to watch her interacting and having fun. Her
particular pleasure is in the chasing, she does not worry that she
can't get to the
ball first she is just happy running along behind the others. She
has
some arthritic pain so I have put her on Seraquin and this seems to be
helping her cope with the minor discomfort.
She is a very
affectionate dog and enjoys being with you. She loves her cuddles
and goes into ecstasy when you get the brush out to groom her. She is a
little shy when it comes to being photgraphed but she is learning fast
that there is nothing to be afraid off as we regularly get the camera
out and snap away.

August 2009 Unfortunately we
had to have Tasha put to sleep today as she was suffering from a
splenic bleed. The prognosis was poor so an operation was ill
advised. God Bless you
Tasha RIP.
