Sammy

Sammy is a bit of a non entity.  His favourite position in the house is sitting on the corner of the desk just watching the world go by. On his first visits he fell in love with Libby and Libby unusually allowed him to fuss around her without telling him off.  A very unusual match especially when Libby is not the one to make instant attetchments to any new dog coming to stay.  His previous minder gave up looking after him because his habits around the house were not to her liking.  His urinating here there and everywhere were something she was not willing to cope with.  When staying with Val in Watford his habits were no different but when staying with Geoff he confined his urinating to the garden.  Being an entire male the garden gave him plenty of oportunity to mark without having to continue this indoors.  Not being a vocal dog  it was easy to forget that he was around  and was often either shut out or shut in, with him being so much slower getting around.  All the other dogs can open the kitchen door to go in and out of the garden at will but Sammy being the King Charles Spanial did not have the strength to push or pull the door.  This is the problem when looking after a smaller dog  as you have to continually remember the limitations that they have with their size.
