The Maynard
Hotel in The Peak District has announced that it will be offering short
break packages aimed specifically at dog owners, who will be made more
welcome than in many other establishments.
Paul Downing,
director of The Maynard, said: ”The Maynard is in such a perfect
location for walking your dog, it would be a shame for dogs in
particular to miss out on the countryside surrounding the hotel.
“There should be
no reason why pet owners can’t enjoy a good quality hotel with their
animals, yet there is a dearth of hotels prepared to take pets, as we
have found to our own cost in the past. The price of putting pets into
kennels can be significant, and many owners naturally prefer not to
leave their pets in the hands of strangers.
”We believe most
pet owners are responsible and the vast majority of pets are well
behaved. Within reason, therefore, we will welcome pets to our newly
refurbished boutique hotel, provided they are kept under control and
provided it doesn’t spoil the enjoyment of other guests.
“If you are
considering a stay at The Maynard and you have pets, the best thing to
do is call us with your requirements and we will see if we can
accommodate them.”
No pets will be
allowed in the restaurant at any time, however they are welcome in the
bar area.
