1.   SODA CRYSTALS
If your dog eats a poisonous foodstuff, you should consider making it vomit.  Soda Crystals are the staple method of making dogs vomit.

Put a 20p-sized amount of soda crystals at the back of the dogs mouth.  After about 4 hours, ingested toxin will have left the stomach.

Be aware that making the dog vomit again after this could cause problems.

2.   SALT WATER
Put a tablespoon of sat in a mug of water.  You will need to open the dog's mouth and pour this in.  The dog may find this distressing.

If this fails to work, then repeat in 10 minutes.

Do not repeat again; the salt can lead to electrolyte imbalance and make your dog ill.

3.  MUSTARD
Put 2 teaspoons in 5ml of water.  Give this like the salt solution, but not as well as it.
Mustard produces less wish to vomit, but is arguably safer.  Use English mustard in powder or paste form.
Rember to tell the vet what you used to make it sick; mustard can look like bile and confuse diagnosis.

4.  DRUGS
Derivatives of morphine cause sedation and vomiting in a predictable manner.  They bare the most commonly used method for vets to make dogs sick.  The problem is that they are a controlled drugs and only medical professionals and pharmacists can possess them.  Try to keep a sample of the vomit for a vet to look at.
